Hello and Welcome! You have reached the Crichton Institutes Blog.
We’ve been having discussions with a growing number of people, organisations and interest groups since we set up the institute in early 2013.
We are a collective of the main academic partners on the Crichton campus in Dumfries in rural South West Scotland, (University of Glasgow, University of the West of Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway College, Open University and Scotland’s Rural College) and our main mission is to build understanding of what makes our region tick and what issues and opportunities lie before us.
We have been focussing on the needs and aspirations of our partners through work, projects and events around

- Policy and Practice, and
- Data and Knowledge Exchange
